Our Company
At Excel Sports Group we are committed to providing student-athlete recruiting and marketing services designed to streamline the college recruitment process and increase an athlete's exposure and college scholarship opportunities. In addition, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive life skills training and development programs designed to enhance the overall growth and development of amateur athletes. At Excel, we believe the key to developing athletes into well rounded and accomplished athletes and citizens begins with life skills education and training relevant to both their on and off court or field performance, and we believe that providing services that help athletes reach their athletic goals provides the foundation for continued sports success.

Our Mission
The mission of Excel Sports Group is to help student-athletes reach their college recruiting goals and to offer life skills training and development programs that will help student-athletes achieve a balanced approach to sporting excellence. At Excel, our mission is focused on providing comprehensive student-athlete recruiting and marketing services and specialized life skills training and development programs designed to enhance an athlete's ability to achieve optimal performance and superior functioning in their personal life and sports endeavors.

Our Founder and CEO
Excel Sports Group was created by Kristi Stepteau, Founder and CEO of the firm, and Founder and Chairman of The National Association of Black Sports Professionals, Inc. (NABSP). NABSP is a national professional association dedicated to connecting, educating and empowering Black sports professionals currently working in the sports industry or professionals and students aspiring to a career in sports (www.NABSP.com).

Prior to creating her company and the Association, Ms. Stepteau worked for several Fortune 500 corporations. Ms. Stepteau has over nineteen (19) years combined experience in training and development, marketing, special events, and community and public relations, and she has held many key positions within the corporate sector, as well as Executive Board positions within the nonprofit environment, where she served as Program Director for a national nonprofit youth support organization. Ms. Stepteau has received several awards for exemplifying dedication, innovation, and creativity in various aspects of her career, and she has also received many achievement awards for her outstanding leadership and career performance.

Ms. Stepteau has extensive sports industry experience. In addition to working with professional athletes in various capacities, Ms. Stepteau has also served as the President of an amateur sports organization, and currently serves as the Team Operations Manager for a youth basketball club. Ms. Stepteau has been a guest speaker at several local, regional and national sports conferences and events, including being a guest speaker at the Mothers of Professional Basketball Players Association's (MPBPA) regional meeting and a guest speaker at the Professional Football Players Mothers Association's (PFPMA) annual conference. Ms. Stepteau has also designed and lead a program entitled "The Game Outside The Game", which educates youth and young adults about careers in sports beyond the playing field or court. The "Game Outside The Game" program has become a major component of a professional athlete's community outreach initiative.

Ms. Stepteau Views Excel Sports Group as an evolution of her ongoing commitment to assisting individuals in enhancing their personal and professional lives. She looks forward to providing a foundation to grow and enhance amateur athlete training and development, and to helping young athletes excel in life and sports.
